Beer Can Chicken

OK do you want to be the envy of your neighbors, have a smell of the perfect BBQ in the neighborhood air. Create the crispy most juicy BBQ chicken ever? Then follow this simple recipe.

The first thing you need to do is turn on both sides of the BBQ and get it nice and hot.

Next go to the fridge and take out your chicken, clean it, oil it and add your seasoning liberally inside and out. I use Montreal chicken spice I know cheating a bit I should make my own rub but what the heck we are all busy.

Next and perhaps needed at this point I mean we have done a lot of work up to now. Take a beer out of the fridge and drink half, now stop at half I know it’s hard to stop but you need some liquid left in the can. Take the can of beer and shove it up the chickens butt don’t spill the liquid.

take some foil and cover the leg and wing tips so they don’t burn. The bird should be standing up nice and tall on your beer can now.

Ok out to the BBQ and turn one side off and place the chicken on the side that is turned off for some nice indirect heat. Close the lid and no matter how much you want to look do not open it for an hour.

After one hour take a peek inside and see  how the bird looks, should be crispy on the outside and nice and tender on the inside.
